Integrated Power Development Scheme (IPDS) Soon in Jammu Kashmir

IPDS (Integrated Power Development Scheme) Jammu and Kashmir: regular and better power supply in rural and border area of the state will soon become possible. In fiscal year 2017-18, the state government of Jammu and Kashmir is going to start Integrated Power Development Scheme (IPDS) in 86 towns of the state. For the electricity scheme, the Central Government has sanctioned funds of Rs. 444.50 Crore.

To make the scheme accessible for people, the Power Finance Corporation is made Nodal Agency. In rural and border areas, the government is serious to bring day-by-day worsening power supply system back on track. For bring power supply system on streamline, many project and scheme reports have been given to the Central Government.

Under Pradhan Mantri Vikasheel Yojana, fund of Rs. 11358 will be going to spend to bring production, income and distribution systems on streamline. The Central Government has accepted a total fund of Rs. 2570.14 for this. Under IPDS Jammu Kashmir, in rural area consumer will be brought in meter system to improve Transmission and Distribution system. Not only will this, to curb power theft in rural area of the state fiber cable be laid. 33 KV and 66 KV grid sub-station will be connected to the National Optical Fiber Network.

Deputy Chief Minister. Nirmal Singh said under R-APDRP fund of Rs. 1817.26 crore has been approved s to improve logistics systems in cities. Jammu and Kashmir Integrated Power Development Scheme completion time has been extended to 2018 so the work on the project will be efficient. From many year people living in rural area are facing short and discontinue supply of electricity.

For Gramin Area people, the project has been approved in the Union Budget 2017-18 and this is expected to solve the electricity shortage problem in state. Also, fiber cable will stop the electricity theft and meter system in rural will directly improve revenue collection in the state.

Under Integrated Power Development Scheme, 86 towns have been divided into total 12 circles of Jammu and Kashmir. The Power Finance Corporation that is declared as Nodal Agency will look on the proper progress of the work.
