Rajiv Thali Yojana
Like Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab and some other states, Himachal Pradesh Government has launched low-cost food scheme for the social welfare. Under this initiative, cheap price food will be provided to the poor people of state and tourist. The rate of per plate of nutritional food in the Yojana will be given at cost of Rs. 25 only.
The food will be served at bus stands in Himachal Pradesh and also Rs. 5 rupees packed mineral water is announced to provide along with scheme. In Rajiv Thali Yojana, the plate of food will contain total 5 items including 2 Chappati, Rice, 1-1 bowl of dal and sabzi. Along with the plate salad and aachar may also be given.
With providing high quality food at low cost, Rajiv Thali Yojana will also offer employment to unemployed peoples of the state. Authorities declared the unemployed and cooperative societies in Himachal Pradesh will get permit to run canteens under the scheme. Food seller will save a total of Rs. 2 on each thali of food, so in case 500 plates sold income will become 1000 rupees a day.
GS Bali Transport Minister of State has said the hotels, Restaurants, and Dhabas are charging very high on food to local as well tourist. So for offering high quality of food to people and travelers from the government has begun the scheme.
Initially, Palampur, Dharamshala, Una and Mandi bus stand will served low cost under Rajiv Thali Yojana. So now people can enjoy quality food and mineral water in just Rs. 30 (25 for Thali and 5 for packed water).
