India is getting ready to become a developed nation from its image of developing country very rapidly. In the same direction of growth and welfare, the central government is continuously introducing and testing new Schemes and Yojana’s. Some of the projects become successful and get extended for further including Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana, MNREGA and many others in the list.

After enthralling the people of India with PMKVY, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) has introduced Pradhan Mantri Yuva Yojana (PMYY) to help first generation entrepreneurs to excel their skills. So the growth for talented youngster becomes a bit easier. This new Entrepreneurship scheme was revealed by the authorities on the 2nd Foundation day of MSDE on 9th November 2016.

Pradhan Mantri Yuva Yojana Main Points



  • In the next five years from 2016-17 to 2020-21, the scheme will benefit more than 7 lakh young entrepreneurs.

  • MSDE has planned to spend a total of Rs. 499.94 crore to train youngster entrepreneurship program across 3050 training centers

  • Out of total 3050 centers, 2200 High Education Institutions including colleges, premier institutes, Govt. and Private universities.

  • 500 ITIs will serve under the PM Yuva Yojana.

  • 300 schools and 50 50 Entrepreneurship Development Centers will also be a part of the scheme.

  • To make development of young entrepreneurs, easy access to information and mentor network, credit, incubator and accelerator and advocacy for the youth.

  • Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) used to complete the training under the five year plans.


Eligibility of Pradhan Mantri Yuva Yojana



  • For applying the scheme, MSDE has only one criteria that the entrepreneur should be less than of age 30 years.


On the event, where PM Yuva Yojana was announced the government will develop young entrepreneurs with national and international best practice of learning through various institutes.

Pradhan Mantri Yuva Yojana (PMYY), launched by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship is a new scheme to scale up an ecosystem of entrepreneurship for youngsters. Under the scheme, the central government will arrange entrepreneurship education and training programs for youngsters for next 5 years.

The scheme will run for five years from 2016-17 to 2020-21 with a project cost of about 499.94 Crore. Under the Pradhan Mantri Yuva Yojana, more than 7 Lakh youngsters will be provided entrepreneurship education and training through 3,050 institutes across India.
