Mukhbir Yojana in Rajasthan- Reward for Sex Determination Informer

Mukhbir Yojana: is an initiative of Rajasthan Government to stop the killing of the girl in the child before birth. In the sex determination scheme, the government aims to take on the doctors, and family member who is living with old orthodox thinking of only have the boy child. Under the Yojana, the state Health authorities will give rewards to the people informed about the crime.

Under PCPNDT Mukhbir Yojana Rajasthan, the state authorities have raised the fund from Rs. 2.0 lakh to 2.5 lakh to stop Fatal sex determination in the state. In the chairmanship of Health Minister Kalicharan Sarraf in the PCPNDT State Supervisory Board meeting, the decision was taken.

Earlier, Rs. 80,000 were given to Informer, Rs. 80,000 to Pregnant Women and Rs.40,000 provisioned to give to the person going with pregnant women under Mukhbir Yojana. In 2017, the provisioned changed to Rs. 1 lakh to the informer, Rs. 1 lakh to Pregnant Women and Rs. 50,000 to the person going along with pregnant women.

PCPNDT NHM President and Mission Director Naveen Jain, also informed that 2,718  sonography machines are currently registered in the state. Of which 222 are in government hospitals and 2496 are in the private hospitals.
