The government expects flights to be started on selected routes in the next 4 to 6 months. Under the Udan Regional Connectivity Scheme of the Government, 128 routes will be covered. For this 5 air airlines Air India, SpiceJet, Air Deccan, Air Orissa and Turbo Megha Airways have won bids. The bids of the second round are expected to start after 6 months. There is a plan to fully implement the regional connectivity scheme in 4 to 6 months.
Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapati said that these companies will benefit after the GST is implemented, while Minister of Civil Aviation Jayant Sinha has said that due to cheap, the flight will be accessible to everyone. Air travel has been made affordable so that airplanes can also make air travel.
SpiceJet Flights Starts from July
After winning bid of Udan Regional Connectivity Scheme, Ajay Singh, CMD of SpiceJet said that the company will provide regional service on 6 routes and flights will start from July.
