Mahila Police Volunteers Initiative Announced For All States

Mahila Police Volunteers Initiative has been now announced for all states across the nation. Initially, Mahila Police Volunteers Scheme for Haryana was started with main objective to reduce the increasing number of violence against women. On the principal of Nirbhaya Fund, MPV Scheme was begun in Karnal and Mohindergarh oh Haryana.

Seeing the success of the project, now the government has said it will start the same in all 29 states of India. So violence problem related to women including domestic violence, child marriage, and many others can be reduced to a larger extent.

Volunteers under the plan will work as the link between police and community to report such problems occurring at ground level. The team will actually work as community police and report about such incidence taking place in the society.

At present, a big list can be easily prepared for violence against women in our society that includes domestic violence, child marriage, dowry harassment and any kind of violence that took place in the home or outdoor with women.

Under Mahila Police Volunteers Initiative women will get free training through Ministry of Women and Child Development. The training will help the volunteers to work better informing link with police and rescuing women from any kind of violence.
