Earlier, PM Narendra Modi launched Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Pradhanmantri Aavas Yojna) in 2015. Under the scheme, the Prime Minister Modi aims to provide Housing For All (HFA) to all the poor people who do not have a house. With this Pradhan Mantri Yojana, he also have an objective provide “Pakka Makan” for people having “Kachaa Makan”.

Under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, people belonging to LIG (Lower Income Group) and Economical Weaker Section (EWS) will get loan for houses from the government on Minimum amount of interest. The central government have aimed to construct a total of 2 crore houses under in Housing scheme in Rural and Urban areas of the country.
The government has decided to complete Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in total 3 phase. In the first phase from April 2015 to March 2017, 100 cities have been targeted to construct affordable houses under the scheme.
In the Second Phase of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, 200 cities are targeted to construct affordable houses to poor people of the country.
In last or 3rd Phase of PMAY from April 2019 to March 2022, remaining all the cities will targeted to complete construction of affordable houses for all by 2022.
