Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) UDAN will Start From February

Regional Connectivity Scheme UDAN is going to launch in the month of February 2017. Initially, the flights under UDAN (Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagarik) Scheme will start from Ludhiana, Shimla, Pant Nagar, and Kucbihar including 43 other less in use airports.

Later on small and large towns having airports which are in use, in less use and not in use will get connected with Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS).

States Agree with UDAN Scheme

Minister of Aviation, Jayant Sinha said till the date a total of 15 states across the state have signed MU to get connected with RCS UDAN Scheme. The states the signed MU with central government are Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Gujarat, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Assam.

Under Regional Connectivity Scheme UDAN, the government will provide assistance in landing and parking fees along with the discount of fuel for airlines. So far under the scheme 43 initial proposals have been received for 190 routes from 11 airlines.

In response to these airlines have asked for a counter offer until February. After till 3rd February allotment of the routes will be done. The government will provide allocation under Regional Connectivity Scheme UDAN to those airlines that will ask for least help.

The first flights under UDAN (Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagarik) will go to start from February 2017 onwards. At present Maharashtra have a total of 19 Airports that are not in use.

Maximum Cost of Flight under UDAN Scheme

In Regional Connectivity Scheme UDAN a trip of 500Km will cost a maximum of Rs. 2500
